The Secret - Does the Universe actually conspire with us?
While reading the book, and also while watching the movie of the same name “The Secret”, I was struck by a thought. Perhaps, I am not the only one to think this way. Does the philosophy, of “what we want, we will get, if we really want it” actually hold true? Because, then wouldn’t everyone be getting what they want? OK fine, I won’t be skeptical. But even if I generate a lot of positive thinking, what are the chances of me creating a magnetic field where I can attract whatever I want?
The basic premise that led me to think about this was the fact that, for example, what if two people want the same guy. So here are two female, and both of them love the same man. Both of them generate a lot of positive thinking, go on thinking about what they want and put their thoughts out there…whose pleading will the cosmos listen to? In this case, how does the philosophy behind this whole concept work?
What about those who want bad to happen to others? Will a person’s wanting of bad things to happen to their enemies, actually turn into reality? Well, this in itself is quite a scary prospect. Because what if there is some very harmless person but he simply happens to have an enemy! So this nice person, who probably does not hurt a fly…will negative wishes from another person actually be successful in ruining him? Doesn’t it sound scary?
So with these in my mind, I started to ponder about the whole concept. In all honesty, I am trying to follow the principle by thinking positively about life. But still some of the matters that I just mentioned, don’t fit in very well with me. I just hope that someone can take into account these doubts, and explain the concept more elaborately.
